Julia Sanson

Julia works with clubs and secondary schools within the Manawatu, Wanganui, Horowhenua and Taranaki region.  She finds it incredibly rewarding to see the stunning smiles on athletes’ faces when they’re having fun and competing in the events.

Julia is an enthusiastic supporter of her two sons’ sport and is a keen walker and gym lover. In her down time Julia has a passion for travel, good food and wine, is an avid reader and is currently training for a half-marathon. She, her sons and her husband are re-vegetating their five acre lifestyle block with native plantings and share their home with a crazy cat, five sheep, four friendly tui and other native bird life… and a paddock of Christmas trees.

Before joining Special Olympics New Zealand, Julia’s past work experience included regional tourism marketing and event and recreation programme management.
