Kathy Dunn

Kathy Dunn takes care of the day-to-day accounting for Special Olympics New Zealand. She has been with the organisation since November 2008 and it’s her job to process all the receipts and payments.

Kathy’s career has been in accounting and she specialises in not-for-profit organisations. She works part-time for Special Olympics New Zealand and has another part-time job for a church.

Sport is no stranger to Kathy. Her five children  (age 13 to 24) are very involved in sporting activities. “Everything that’s sport, they are involved,” she says, adding  that the whole family skis – it’s the family thing they do.

Kathy says she’s blown away by the achievements of Special Olympics athletes and she’s happy to make a contribution to their success. “I’m a small part of what needs to happen to give the athletes the opportunity to achieve.”
