Do you want to transform lives? Do you want to create friendships? Do you want to change the way people think? Be a volunteer for Special Olympics New Zealand and you can do all that – and have fun at the same time!
Volunteers are the backbone of Special Olympics. They come from all walks of life and from all different backgrounds and they fill many different roles. Some volunteers are coaches who commit hundreds of hours every year. Others give an hour or two to drive athletes to an event when it fits into their otherwise busy life.
Some volunteers tap into their professional expertise and offer help in areas such as accountancy or publicity. Others use their fundraising or photography skills.
