Charlie Smith

Charlie Smith is one of Special Olympics New Zealand’s newest advocates.

As a Global Messenger he intends to get out into the community and inform others about the organisation that has played such an important part of his life.

Above all, he wants to ensure others have fun competing in Special Olympics New Zealand events, although he admits “it’s hard not to have fun with all the people around.”

Charlie originally lived at Homai National School for the Blind and Vision Impaired before moving in with relatives on the Hibiscus Coast in 2006, where he became involved with Special Olympics Hibiscus Coast as a tenpin bowler.
