Special Olympics New Zealand's 2011 National Winter Games proved to be another roaring success!
From 31 August to 2 September 2011, athletes from around New Zealand gathered at Cardrona Alpine Resort.
It was the largest National Winter Games in our history with 51 athletes representing 20 clubs supported by 30 coaches.
We also had the incredible support of many of our Special Olympics volunteers and were very fortunate to have supplementary voluntary support through the Adaptive Snowsports Programme at Cardrona Alpine Resort.
We would like to thank our many sponsors, volunteers and supporters who have contributed to these National Winter Games. In particular, Pub Charity, Cardrona Alpine Resort, Goodman Fielder, Lake Hawea Hotel, Albert Town Lodge, Pearsons Coachlines and team Livewire of Massey Design and Business Course.
