I am Anna and I do Special Olympics. I started Special Olympics in Christchurch about six years ago. I rode horses at RDA and Special Olympics in Christchurch and went in a big competition there.
I love riding horses and now I ride at RDA in Wanaka and we are just starting some Special Olympics riding there, too. I moved to Wanaka with my family three years ago.
I have a brother called Francis, he likes snow sports and he used to play ice hockey. I have spent lots of time watching ice hockey. It is very cold but I usually get a hot chocolate to warm me up. Francis and Mum and Dad do lots of skiing but I don’t really like skiing that much but I do like the hot chocolate they serve at the ski fields.
I have a dog called Jack and a cat called Lucy. I live with my mum and dad as well and Francis and my pets. I have a child carer called Joy and she also moved down from Christchurch. Joy and I love watching the cartoons on TV and singing Mama Mia songs.
I go to Mt Aspiring College and I am in year 10. I really like reading and languages. My teacher aide is Jenni and we like doing cooking together. I speak quite a lot of Spanish and some Maori and German and French. Wanaka has lots of people that speak different languages and have accents. I really like listening to Scottish and Irish accents. I go to some cafĂ©’s in Wanaka and sometimes the barista has an accent or can speak another language like French. I practice my language speaking with them.
I don’t really like sport much because I broke my leg once but I do like to go for walks with Mum and Jack. I do like playing bowls with Special Olympics in Cromwell.
