Dominic was born on 2 December 1979 in Invercargill, Southland. His hobbies include model railways, making model aircraft, drawing, writing stories, biking, taking photos and reading books.
Dominic helps to keep the world clean and green! He works at two recyclying centres in Southland. At one, he operates a big washing machine that cleans plastic bags. At the other, he sorts paper.
"My favourite movies are the 1974 movie Earthquake, The Cassandra Crossing and the Airport movies," says Dominic. "I love flying in planes I have flown out of New Zealand 12 times to Australia, Singapore, Malaysia, Norsolk Island and the USA."
Dominic owns his house and has a big model train set in the garage. He has American and English trains (HO scale). He says the railway tracks are all in place and he is working on the scenery, painting lines on the roads and the making buildings.
From 1999 - 2005, Dominic was a tenpin bowler. He took a three year break and came back to Special Olympics in powerlifing in 2008 In 2009, he flew to Palmerston North for the National Summer Games and will represent New Zealand at the World Summer Games in Greece in 2011.
"I am very lucky to be selected to fly to the World Summer Games in Athens next year," says Dominic. "The most important thing to me is to share with my Special Olympics family."
