Equestrian training and competition at Special Olympics New Zealand includes a number of different levels and events based on the ability of the athlete.
Riders may compete in one level only: Level A (walk, trot, canter), Level B (walk, trot), Level C (walk), Level BS (supported walk, trot) and Level CS (supported walk).
Depending on facilities and rider ability, Special Olympics New Zealand provides many events including dressage, equitation, obstacle trails, gymkhana events and prix caprilli (a dressage test with jumps).
