Become a Special Olympics New Zealand Coach
Special Olympics New Zealand is committed to coaching excellence because of the positive impact it has on both coaches and athletes. We aim to create a supportive learning environment where coaches are encouraged to grow, develop their skills, and continually improve over time. Through this approach, we want to build coaches who have the confidence and capability to support Special Olympics athletes to reach their potential, become empowered people, and develop a lifelong love of sport and physical activity.
Special Olympics New Zealand Coach Development Framework
The Special Olympics Coach Development Framework outlines the learning journey for both internal Special Olympics coaches, and coaches within the wider community who are looking to build their confidence to support athletes who have an intellectual
disability.
Become An Accredited Special Olympics Coach
To be officially recognized as a Special Olympics coach here in New Zealand, coaches must complete the Special Olympics New Zealand coach onboarding and a series of local and international e-learnings.
Please see official learning requirements within the Special Olympics Coach Development Framework.
