Your donations
Thank you very much for your donation to Special Olympics NZ. Our charity registration number is CC32510. Special Olympics NZ is a member of the Fundraising Institute of Australasia and abides by all the Codes of Conduct and Ethics of this organisation.
Security
Special Olympics NZ collects your name and contact information when you donate. We may use the information you have provided to contact you about the impact your donating is having. We will hold your records securely in accordance with the Privacy Principles of the Privacy Act 2020.
By donating, you are consenting to receive communications from us. You can opt out of any of these communications using the ‘unsubscribe’ button at the bottom of emails, or by contacting us.
Special Olympics NZ will not sell, distribute or lease your personal information to third parties, unless we have your permission or are required to by law. If you have previously agreed to us using your personal information, you may change your mind at any time by contacting us. You may also request details of the information we collect about you.
Refunds
Your donations will help Special Olympics NZ provide opportunities for those with an Intellectual Disability to participate. If you gave an incorrect amount or wish to organise a refund for your donation, please contact us within 7 days of your donation being made. Refund requests will be considered at the discretion of SONZ and processed where reasonably practicable.
To request a refund, please contact us at admin@specialolympics.org.nz or call 027 800 1156.
Regular donations
Making a regular donation to Special Olympics NZ saves time and money, and is a more sustainable way to help fund Special Olympics in NZ.
If you opt to make a regular donation, we will periodically debit your account for the agreed amount at the frequency selected by you. The first donation will occur on the date you make your first donation. Subsequent donations will occur at the frequency and amount you requested.
If you want to make changes to your drawing arrangements, please contact us at least five (5) business days prior to the next donation date. Changes may include:
- Deferring the drawing
- Altering the frequency or amount
- Stopping an individual debit
- Changing your account details
- Cancelling the automatic payment completely
Please send all enquiries to us rather than to your financial institution in the first instance. Please do not send credit card information to us via email.
If you believe that a donation has been initiated incorrectly, please contact us immediately.
Please ensure sufficient cleared funds are in your nominated account on the drawing date. Please advise us if the nominated account is transferred or closed. We reserve the right to cancel your automatic payment if two (2) or more donations are returned unpaid, but we will attempt to contact you by telephone and/or email to arrange an alternative payment method.
Limitation of liability
While SONZ takes reasonable care to ensure the accuracy of information on this website, we make no warranties or representations about the accuracy or completeness of the content. To the fullest extent permitted by New Zealand law, SONZ excludes liability for any loss or damage arising from your use of this website or reliance on its content.
