Special Olympics New Zealand athletes will take to the snow as part of a wider week of inclusive and accessible snow sports, delivered in partnership with Snow Sports NZ.
Taking place at Cardrona from 11-14 August 2027, the event will bring Special Olympics athletes together for three days of snow sports competition and the all important Opening and Closing Ceremonies and Party.
The week will include:
6–8 August — Snow Sports NZ Adaptive Snow Festival
9–11 August — Special Olympics Snow Camp, alongside Para and Virtus camps (2027 National Winter Games Opening Ceremony)
12–14 August — Special Olympics 2027 National Winter Games
Each event will have its own programme, participants and dates, with the week creating an opportunity for different parts of the snow sports community to come together on the mountain.
Our growing partnership with Snow Sports NZ is an exciting step towards creating more snow sports opportunities for Special Olympics New Zealand athletes.
