Our Young Athletes Weekend Programme is a fun and inclusive, free, 6-week programme for children aged 2–10 years with intellectual disabilities and/or autism. Sessions are held on Saturdays at local community venues and run for 45 minutes, with a focus on developing fundamental movement skills like running, throwing, and jumping, as well as social skills such as taking turns, listening, and making new friends.

Sessions are running in the Wellington region in 2026.

Please contact yaplead@specialolympics.org.nz to express your interest for our upcoming programmes.
